New Website - Quiet Souls

I love designing websites for new small businesses! Quiet Souls is a Native-American owned store that sells many unique, interesting products such as crystals, native art, clothing and natural remedies such as braided sweetgrass and sage bundles. And it's more than a store, it’s a community where artists can sell their work, and events where people can learn more about Native American culture. The new website helps expand their client base and spread the word on this unique business.

Located in Freeport, Illinois, Quiet Souls is a small Native American-inspired gift shop. They opened their “bricks-and-mortar” store in early 2022, offering a unique and wide selection of items including Native-made gift items and musical instruments, healing herbs, natural stones, household items and clothes. Additionally., Quiet Souls holds monthly Native-American events. They wanted to expand the availability of their one-of-a-kind items and their events to a larger audience, and going online with an e-commerce website was the obvious choice to engage and expand their audience for products and events.

I worked virtually with their team to better understand their store, audience, business goals and existing technology. They were using Square as an in-store payment system, and wanted to continue with Square. Although Squarespace integrates with Square payment processing, inventory integration is not easy synchronized with some of Square’s hardware. To ensure tight inventory integration, and because their website design needs were straightforward, I recommended building their new site in Square. All product inventory was available immediately for the store, but all inventory had to be modified to include online content such as price, description and category.

Key strengths of the new site

  • Easy and clear navigation to shop, events and location

  • Instant synchronization with online inventory levels

  • Display of featured categories and current events on the home page

  • Easy to update
