Bike Walk Oak Park
Non-Profit, New Website
Bike Walk Oak Park (BWOP) is a fairly new non-profit that needed a website to support its mission to advocate for safer streets locally in Oak Park, Illinois.
Starting from scratch, I met with the team virtually and gathered all of the ideas they had, and what they wanted to communicate. As is often the case with new websites, they were bursting with ideas and plans that had been simmering in their minds — a new website was the perfect place to share their research, advocacy, news, events and safety tips.
I used their existing logo to create a lively color palette, and included some animation to present the information in a dynamic way. We used a mix of photos provided by the team and their Facebook followers, along with some stock photos.
As an avid bicyclist and walker, it was fun to work on this project that advocates for safety and helps promote alternatives to traveling by car.
Key strengths of the new site

“(Our new website) It's so beautiful! Well-organized and flexible. It really reflects who we are as an organization. Judy trained us as we went along in set-up so that we would feel more confident running the website moving forward and making changes to content. She was so kind and easy to work with.”

“Judy is so patient and helpful. She let us take our time with this process and was a fantastic guide along the way. It was also very helpful how she provided tutorials to us so we can feel comfortable maintaining the site.”
